Indulge in Charleston Wine + Food Festival: A Culinary Extravaganza
Charleston isn't just home to colorful real estate, it is also one the top culinary destinations in the US! One of our favorite times of the year is the annual Charleston Food + Wine Festival. This event is a celebration of the Lowcountry's rich culinary heritage, showcasing the best of local and international flavors. From March 6-10, food enthusiasts from around the world will gather to experience the vibrant culinary scene of Charleston, South Carolina.
Culinary Village:
At the heart of the festival lies the Culinary Village, a gastronomic wonderland that brings together renowned chefs, sommeliers, and artisans. Visitors can indulge in a wide array of tastings, demonstrations, and interactive experiences that highlight the diverse flavors of the region. The village has something for everyone- food trucks, beer gardens, cork yards, street food stands, a book nook, an artisan market, farm fresh market stands, a Zero Proof garden (for non-alcoholic refreshments) and live music!! The Culinary Village is a feast for the senses and definitely the place to be.
The Street Fest: Thursday March 7, 6-8pm
The festival spills out onto the streets of Charleston, where the vibrant atmosphere comes alive with the Street Fest. Here, attendees can immerse themselves in the energetic ambiance, savoring mouthwatering street food, craft beverages, and live music. The fest takes place on upper King Street between John Street and Mary Street. Black Expo has joined forces with the City of Charleston this year to feature the world of black wines and spirits at their Tasting Garden. The Street Fest is a delightful showcase of the city's culinary creativity, offering a perfect blend of local charm and global influences.
Catch of the Day: Thursday March 7 2-4:30pm
One of the festival's most anticipated events is "Catch of the Day," a celebration of the abundant seafood that defines Charleston's coastal cuisine. This event is held on Bowens Island, giving the perfect ocean views for your backdrop to fresh food. Attendees can relish the freshest catches prepared by top seafood chefs, each dish highlighting the region's maritime heritage. From oyster roasts to seafood boils, "Catch of the Day" is a seafood lover's paradise, where the flavors of the ocean take center stage.
