Veteran’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect opportunity to honor the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our freedom. Here are some exciting ways you can volunteer and participate in events around Wilmington and Charlotte to show your support.

 

Southeast North Carolina Veterans Parade

Where: Downtown Wilmington, NC
When: 11 AM, Saturday, November 9, 2024

Kick off your Veteran’s Day celebrations by attending the Southeast North Carolina Veterans Parade. This vibrant event is a wonderful way to honor our veterans and enjoy a sense of community. Bring your family and friends to witness the pride and patriotism on display!

 

Carolina Veterans Day Festival

Where: American Legion Memorial Stadium
When: November 11, 2 PM - 8 PM

Join us for the Carolina Veterans Day Festival, a free, family-friendly event designed to honor those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Enjoy free parking for the first 500 guests! Highlights of the festival include:

Free Fall Parachute Jump

Military Pageantry

Inflatables for Kids

Live Concerts

Complimentary Meal for the First 2,000 Attendees (thanks to Wells Fargo)

Veterans Day Honor Walk

Where: Begins at 02 Fitness on Independence Blvd, ends at Anne Bonny’s Bar & Grill
When: November 10

Participate in the Veterans Day Honor Walk, a 3.3-mile journey that not only honors our veterans but also supports the wonderful organization, Paws4People. This organization provides highly-trained service dogs for wounded veterans. Join us for a post-walk party where you can meet and play with service dogs while enjoying fun activities and prizes!

Veterans Celebration and Information Fair

Where: Eagles Dare, 420 N Third Street
When: November 9

Celebrate our veterans at the Veterans Celebration and Information Fair! Enjoy live music from The Clams band in a nostalgic 50’s vibe setting at the former gas station turned community hub. This event offers a great chance to interact with veterans and their families, and businesses are welcome to request sponsorships on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more about the fair here!
