Back to School Drives Charlotte
It's about time for your kids to head back to school! There is still ample opportunity to attend back-to-school bashes in Charlotte. These events aim to provide fun for children and their families, sell discounted school supplies, and offer donation tables. See several of these wonderful events below:
Charlotte Legal Advocacy Back to School Bash
Where: Veterans Park, 2136 Central Ave, Charlotte NC 28205
When: Thursday, July 25 from 10:00am-2:00pm
This event includes free pizza and each school aged child will receive a backpack and school supplies. This nonprofit also provides health screenings and vaccinations.
York Police Department's Community Night Out
Where: York Recreation Complex at 74 4th Street, York SC 29745
When: Friday, July 26 from 5:00-8:00pm
This is a free event to bring the community together. Attractions include a law enforcement car show, bouncy houses, free school supplies, helicopter displays, military displays, free food (popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy), music and more!
The Keith Clinic Free Backpack Giveaway
Keith Clinic Chiropractic Medicine is giving away free backpacks stuffed with school supplies at each of their locations between Friday Aug 2 and Saturday Aug 3. The backpacks are while supplies lasts, so make sure you arrive at each office right when the giveaway time starts!

Belmont's National Night Out & Back to School Bash
Where: Stowe Park, 24 S. Main Street, Belmont NC 28012

The Belmont Police Department is hosting this event, which includes free hot dogs, family activities, music, games, and more!
Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department National Night Out
Where: Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, 4751 NC Hwy 49, Concord NC 28025
When: Tuesday, August 6 from 5:00-7:00pm
The Cabarrus County Sherriff's Department is going all out for their National Night Out! This event will have tons of law enforcement displays and demos, including helicopters, drones, motorcycles, K9 demos, and fingerprint forensic analysis. They will also have music, games, food, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and community resources!
Arbor Glen Outreach Center Back to School Bash
Where: Clanton Park, 1520 Clanton Rd, Charlotte NC 28217
When: Saturday, August 10 from 11:00am-2:00pm
The AGOC Back to School Bash is great for kids between ages 5-17 and includes games, refreshments, music, and free backpacks filled with school supplies. You must pre-register your child and bring them to the event in order to receive the supplies.
Next Big Thing Charlotte's Back to School Block Party
Where: Northwest Charlotte near Coulwood Park, 8470 Bellhaven Blvd, Charlotte NC 28216
When: Saturday, August 10 from 1:00-5:00pm
This is a large community event with swag bags, food trucks, a live DJ, a Kids Zone, free school supplies, and lots of vendors you can shop with!
Firestone Park Back to School Giveaway
Where: Firestone Park, 3501 Firestone Dr, Charlotte NC 28216
When: Sunday, August 11 at 5:00pm
Bring the family for a fun-filled evening of games, music, free school supplies, and an exciting 3v3 Basketball Tournament! You do need to RSVP for this event in order to receive your free meal when you arrive.
10th Annual Back to School Community Health Fair
Where: CW Williams Community Health Center, 3333 Wilkinson Blvd, Charlotte NC 28208
When: Saturday, August 10 from 10:00am-2:00pm
This event is LOADED with free care for your kids headed back school! They will be giving out FREE immunizations, free food, free school supplies and health screenings. They are also offering school physicals for $25 per child. The child must be present in order to receive supplies. If you will be getting health screenings, physicals, or immunizations, remember to bring your insurance card and a list of past immunizations (if you are not insured, you can still receive the care!). There will be music and games to entertain the kiddos while you check all the boxes off your back to school to-do list!
Independence Harley-Davidson Back to School Bash
Where: 9205 E. Independence Blvd, Matthews NC 28105
When: August 17 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm
Bring two school supplies items and you will have the opportunity to win a $50 gift card! There will be lots of free fun for you and your family, including games, t-shirts, hot dogs, live music, and food trucks.
The Mecklenburg County Back to School Bash
Where: Southeast Charlotte, 2200 Coronation Blvd, Charlotte NC 28227
When: Saturday, August 17 from 1:00-3:30pm
At this event, Mecklenburg County students can receive a free backpack, free school supplies, a free pair of socks, and even a free pair of shoes! You must register your child (follow link and select Find Tickets) and bring the child to the event in order to receive all supplies.
Kreative Khee Back to School Giveaway & Pop Up Shop
Where: Level II Venue in the University Area, 10210 Berkeley Place Drive Suite 260, Charlotte NC 28262
When: Sunday, August 18 from 2:00-5:00pm
This family event offers many opportunities to win school-themed prizes and will have lots of free school supplies giveaways. There will be many local vendors that you can also shop with to ensure your kids go back to school in style!
