Beat the Heat and Cool Down at One of Charlotte's Many Splash Parks!

 

Charlotte has you covered with splash pads all around the city!  When the temps get into the 100's, you're definitely going to want this list of our favorite splash pads.  Here's a quick breakdown going from North Charlotte to Uptown to South Charlotte and everywhere in between!

 

Beatty's Ford Park, North Charlotte

 
8335 Shipley Lane (located off Unity Church Road) Denver 28037

Features: This park includes a picnic shelter, restrooms, disc golf, a walking trail, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits and more.




 
5435 Hucks Rd, Charlotte 28269

Features: The 31-acre park is located across the street from Clarks Creek Nature Preserve. It offers a dog park, Playground, 8 pickleball courts, 1 full court basketball sport court, spray ground (open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Labor Day), trails, restrooms and more.

 

Hope Park, North Charlotte

170 Joe Knox Blvd., Mooresville 28115

Features: Let the kids splash away and enjoy the other areas such as picnic shelters and the playground.

 

 

Lake Norman Kiwanis Splashville Park, North Charlotte

Features: ADA Accessible Picnic Shelter (Reservable), Playground, and Restrooms. The splash pad is approximately 1,300 sqft.

Features: In addition to the events at the amphitheater, the Splash Pad offers fun all summer long with its water cannons, geysers and jets.

Features: The Water Park is one of the newest additions to the park - and one of the most popular! You will find a campground, lake, carousel, train, aquarium and nature center, animal habitats, and more at this awesome park!

Features: Experience how our unique new facility can make family time even cooler this summer! Bring your family and friends to the Y and explore our 6,500 square foot splash park. Members can enjoy fun in the sun with their loved ones!

Features: The 4 acre new First Ward park is the culmination of a joint partnership between Levine Properties, UNC Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte.

Features: Located among the hustle and bustle of Charlotte's uptown is a green slice of haven. During the hot summer days, kids can cool off and play under the three towering fish foundations that pour down streams of water.

Features: This charming green space is nestled in the Dilworth neighborhood, offering a view of the Charlotte skyline. The spray park is conveniently located next to the playground and bathrooms.


2136 Central Ave, Charlotte 28205

Features: Nudged between Elizabeth and Plaza Midwood, the spray ground at Veterans Park is large and covered! Kids and adults can join the fun and there is an overhead canopy for shade.

Features: The Indoor Aquatics Center features a 25-yard, six-lane lap pool and a zero-entry multipurpose pool with a water park. Our outdoor park includes a kiddie pool and play area, slides, a lap pool, pool chairs, and a picnic area. It is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.

 

 

 
Features: We can't leave out the three awesome splash areas at Carowinds! In addition to be our local theme park, Carowinds has a water park that includes waterslides of all sizes, a wave pool, and pools for infants and toddlers as well as separate changing areas, restrooms and lockers.

Features: Blakeney's splash pad is located on the upper tier in this photograph, just to the left of the center fountain.  Kids can run around the splash pad, throw or kick a ball in the field area, and there's a fantastic playground right there as well!  Not to mention bars and restaurants with outdoor seating so you can enjoy a refreshing beverage while the kids get their energy out!

Features: Pineville Splash Park is simple yet tons of fun.  Monday - Friday: 10am-7pm; Saturday: 10am-6pm

Features: The western node, accessible via Avon Street, offers one large and two small picnic shelters, a spray ground, and an outdoor pool with a slide, lazy river, and other water features. The pool house includes showers, dressing rooms, restrooms, and a concession area. Additionally, the park is surrounded by paved walking trails that connect to the adjacent greenway.
