Private Schools in the Charlotte Area

Charlotte, NC has recently been named as the #1 most moved-to big city in the US from 2023-2024. With a move-in to move out ratio of 1.68, the city is booming and bringing in more new residents than ever before. As many people begin their research to move to the area, one of the first questions I get as a realtor is about the school options in the greater Charlotte area. While public schools are available and in some cases very highly ranked, many families opt to look into private schools as well for a variety of reasons.

Some of the key benefits to private school include:

  1. Smaller Class Sizes, allowing for more personalized attention and a better student-teacher ratio.
  2. Specialized Programs that cater to specific educational philosophies, learning styles, or interests. This flexibility can allow for a more customized education for students.
  3. High Academic Standards and rigorous curriculum requirements. This focus on academic excellence can contribute to a challenging and enriching educational experience.
  4. Strong Focus on Extracurricular Activities including sports, arts, and other enrichment programs. This can provide students with a well-rounded education and opportunities to explore their interests beyond the classroom.
  5. Encouraged parental involvement in the educational process, which can foster a strong sense of community and collaboration between parents, teachers, and students.
  6. Focus on Values and Ethics (especially those schools with religious affiliations) which can be appealing to families seeking an education that aligns with their moral or religious beliefs.
  7. College Preparation Resources including college counseling, standardized test preparation, and guidance throughout the college application process.
