Beach Parking Permit: Starting in 2024 Beach Parking Permits are only valid in beach access parking lots. There is no residential free parking on the road shoulder. Anyone adding a Golf Cart on their account will need to stop by City Hall with appropriate documentation (proof of insurance, current state registration with Folly address, valid driver’s license) to obtain their City registration decal. Parking Meters: It is highly recommended, but not required to place your receipt on the dashboard of your car so it can be easily seen by parking enforcement.
Pay Station information is as follows:
- Meter Rates: $2.50 per hour or $10.50 for all day parking.
- Paid Parking: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM, seven days a week.
- Time Limit: There is no overnight parking permitted and no parking in paid lots after 10 PM and washout after 11 PM.
- The Pay Stations do NOT accept coins. They only accept debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover)
Beach Access Parking: Folly Beach is renowned for its extensive public access points, boasting 49 convenient entry points, several of which include paid parking lots right at the walkover. Refer to the chart HERE for the precise location of each walkover and any additional amenities provided.

How to Make a Parking Payment:
Easily pay for parking at all Folly Beach paid areas via your mobile phone without downloading an app. Simply scan the QR code or text the code on parking signs at each location. Enter your license plate and cell phone number accurately, along with a valid credit or debit card, with a $0.35 convenience fee per transaction. Receive a reminder text 15 minutes before your parking session expires, enabling you to extend time if necessary.
