Charlotte’s biggest celebrations are returning in 2024. Here's a list of fireworks displays, parades, and celebrations.


Central Charlotte

SkyShow 2024 Firework Show Following the Charlotte Knights Game
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: Game starts at 6:35 p.m. Fireworks Show follows the game
Place: Truist Field, 324 S Mint Street, Charlotte, NC
Cost: Price of ticket to baseball game vary
Features: SkyShow 2024 takes place after the Charlotte Knights game which begins at 6:35 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, and expected to sell out.
Tip: At no cost, you can also watch the fireworks from Romare Bearden Park, 300 S Church Street.

 

Charlotte Museum of History’s Independence Day Celebration
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Place: Charlotte Museum of History, 3500 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC
Cost: Free
Features: The event will feature the Oath and Naturalization Ceremony for a group of new U.S. citizens. There will also be music, a keynote address, and opportunities for voter registration.

 

North Charlotte

 

Birkdale Village’s 4th of July Celebration
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Place: Birkdale Village, 8712 Lindholm Street, Huntersville, NC
Cost: Free
Features: Bike decorating, bike parade, block party, and the Huntersville Fire Department’s annual wet down.


Charlotte Motor Speedway Cook Out Summer Shootout
Date: Tuesday, July 2, 2024
Time: 5 to 9 p.m.
Place: Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Pkwy S., Concord, NC
Cost: $10; Free for kids 12 and under
Features: There will be a fireworks show after the races. Also, first responders and military get in for free with ID.


Town of Harrisburg’s 4th of July Celebration
Date: Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: Parade is at 9 a.m. on Thursday. The festival is both days. Wednesday: 4 to 10 p.m., and Thursday: 4 to 11 p.m.
Place: The festival is at Harrisburg Park, 191 Sims Parkway, Harrisburg, NC. The parade starts at Captain Steve’s Restaurant on Hwy 49.
Cost: Free, but you’ll need tickets or a wristband for rides.
Features: A parade and a two-day festival, including live music, rides and fireworks.

 

South Charlotte


Town of Matthews Independence Day Celebration
Date: Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and 5-9 p.m. on Thursday
Place: Wednesday at Matthews SportsPlex, 2425 Sports Parkway, Matthews, NC.
Thursday at Stumptown Park, 120 S Trade Street, Matthews, NC
Cost: Free
Features: Wednesday night features a fireworks show at Matthews SportsPlex. Thursday’s celebration features food trucks, kids’ activities, patriotic fun and a free concert by 20Ride — Zac Brown Tribute Band from 5- 9PM.

 

Carowinds: Star-Spangled Nights Fireworks Spectacular
Date: Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 9:30 p.m.
Place: Carowinds, 14523 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte, NC
Cost: Admission to Carowinds. Ticket prices vary.
Features: Fireworks performance.



Symphony Park Celebrate's America!

Date: Sunday, June 30, 2024
Time: 5 to 9:30 p.m. (Gates open at 5 p.m., Prelude performance at 7 p.m., Concert at 8:15 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.)
Place: Symphony Park, 4400 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC
Cost: $18 in advance; $25 at the gate; Youth 13-18: $5 in advance; $7 at the gate; Children under 13: free, but ticket is required.
Features: Patriotic favorites, followed by fireworks. The Charlotte Symphony also offers some free performances for the community, some with fireworks. 


Indian Trail July 4th Parade
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 11:30 a.m.
Place: Post Office Drive down Indian Trail Road to Old Monroe Road
Cost: Free
Features: Floats, walkers and more.

 

Independence Day Celebration in Fort Mill Amphitheater at Walter Elisha Park
Date: Wednesday, July 3, 2024
Time: 6-9:30 PM
Place:
345 N. White Street, Fort Mill Amphitheater
Cost: Free
Features: Music, vendors, food trucks, a special ceremony and our amazing fireworks show. There will also be plenty of children’s activities.

 

West Charlotte


Red White & Belmont
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Place: Upper Field of Stowe Park, 24 S Main Street, Belmont, NC
Cost: Free
Features: Live music by 80Z Nation and fireworks.



4th of July Celebration at Whitewater Center
Date: Check back soon

Place: Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC
Cost: Free, but parking is $12
Features: In 2023, the celebration included contests, live music and yoga, but no fireworks.
