September Events in Charlotte: What to Do This Month

Matthews Alive Festival
When: September 4–7, 2026
Where: Downtown Matthews
Kick off September with one of the Charlotte area’s most beloved Labor Day weekend traditions. Matthews Alive brings the community together for four days of live music, carnival rides, food vendors, arts and crafts, games, and family-friendly activities throughout downtown Matthews. Labor Day Celebration at the U.S. National Whitewater Center

Where: U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway
