One of Charlotte’s oldest and most prestigious neighborhoods, Myers Park is a host to many boutique stores, fine dining, art galleries, stunning churches, and the Manor Theatre – famously known to be around the corner of “Queens & Queens & Providence & Providence”. The most discerning factor about Myers Park are the mature tree (willow, oak, tulips poplars, and elm) lined streets creating a canopy and it’s old, southern style homes on large lots.
One of the most attractive features of Myers Parks is the feeling that one is in an old secluded Southern town cut off from the Center City and yet still at the center of it all.
Myers Park hosts Charlotte’s oldest arts organization and state’s longest running community theatre: Theatre Charlotte. www.theatrecharlotte.org
The Manor Theatre, a gem in Myers Park and is a popular spot among many Charlotteans best known for its “artsy” and indie films. Located at 609 Providence Road in the heart of Myers Park.
Freedom Park is a large and scenic park with walking trails circling a pond. The park features places to play tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer and even a small amphitheater. On the weekends, you can see your neighbors set up a blanket on its rolling hills enjoying the sun and a picnic.
There are several restaurants and bars in the Myers Park area, from upscale dining (Napa on Providence & Lumiere Restaurant) to the Selwyn Avenue Pub.
